As a wool fanatic, It’s easy to dream of running a cozy yarn shop where fiber lovers could gather, explore diverse yarns, and share their projects over a cup of tea. However, sustaining a business year-round in Alaska’s smaller communities like mine presents challenges due to the limited population.

This challenge sparked the idea of a mobile yarn shop, perfectly suited to the nomadic spirit of the Last Frontier. Thus, MOHO YARN CO was conceived—not just as a business, but as a mobile gathering place that brings the yarn shop experience to small-town crafters.

My mobile shop, housed in a converted motorhome (moho) is a vibrant hub of creativity and community. Now completed, it’s on a journey around Alaska from Homer to Fairbanks, providing a unique shopping experience from spring to fall. I have curated a selection of my favorite natural fibers and am dedicated to offering high-quality yarns that promote traceable supply chains and support domestic wool production.

MOHO YARN CO is more than just a mobile shop—it’s a community on wheels, weaving together stories and friendships one mile, and one colorful skein, at a time.
